ABSTRACT
The Church founded by Herbert Armstrong
demanded that the young men of draft age register
as conscientious objectors. Those who were
drafted were able to be in alternative service and
jobs that fit the draft program were provided by
the church. The program at the church was
supposed to reflect the standards set by the
religion focused on the wonderful world of the
millennium, but the experience of the
conscientious objector was far from expectations.
