How did we come to be where we are now? Through our CHOICES; both unconscious and conscious. Depending on our FRAME of mind, WE created the picture. Our "frame" was given to us as children, long before we knew it. Some call it a "life script" or a family "program". We follow it naturally, unconsciously, until we stop and ask why!

Why do we do WHAT we do? Many stumble through life and never ask. Usually we follow the "familiar" (family), because it is expected of us, or it feels good, it makes us feel important, "good", smart, and accepted. Basically we do what we have to do to survive, and what we do is usually for ourselves. Even if we think we are pleasing others, perhaps it is because we fear to displease them. To avoid bad feelings, we please them, for ourselves.

Now there is nothing wrong with that. Don't we all want to be happy and fulfilled? Maybe that is not all bad but as we mature we usually want to be in charge of our own life. Independent! Isn't that what families are supposed to do, let their children go to make a life of their own? Well unless we had functional families who knew how to do that, we are all in the same boat not having fully separated from our parents. Before we know it, we find ourselves in a place we really do not want to be, and we don't know how to get out.

It is not easy to ask yourself questions, to get to know the real "self " inside. Yet until we do, we are not free to know who we really are, what we want, or what we will become.

Some views on mankind are (1) we are "spiritual" beings locked in a physical body, (2) a physical being in the process of growing in a spiritual awareness which will make this world a better place, (3) some don't know or care.

It is up to us to choose which paradigm or philosophy we want to live and emulate. Many of us, in the past, have followed the beliefs of others because it was familiar, easier, and accepted by society and then we really didn't know what we believed most of the time. We were parrots, just as we became parrots in Worldwide Church of God, being led and taught what they said was the TRUTH!

What I want to say is that, if you or anyone is happy doing what you are and aren't ready to question it, it is your life. We are only responsible for ourselves. One important thing I have learned from experience is that you can't change people! They and WE have to want to change ourselves!

So many haven't taken the time to think or learn how to do this. Wiping the slate clean and starting over doesn't work. We must get help working through the stumbling blocks of the past, and grieve the losses. It takes time. Each one does this in his own way.

How can we know where we are going if we don't know where we have been? What we are and where we are, is the sum total of our thoughts, experiences, and CHOICES. With some help, we are all survivors! We have accomplished what many haven't. WE ARE FREE! With that freedom comes responsibility to use the greatest POWER ever given us. OUR MIND and CHOICES.

For those who believe that we are maturing to a level above our lower human self, we have an example to show how we can change the world, one at a time, beginning and ending with ourselves. That is how one person can make a difference. It's your choice!

As you think, you travel, and you love, you attract

Mind is the master power
That moulds and makes
And man is mind, and evermore he takes
The tool of thought
And shaping what he wills,
Brings forth a thousand joys,
A thousand ills:
He thinks in secrete and it comes to pass:
Environment is but a looking glass
