Bulldozing date for campus buildings

Townhouses will replace Ambassador College offices and classrooms: LA Times story.

It strange: a part of me says "good riddance," and another part of me feels forlorn and nostalgic for the old college and the old days.

I suppose that is the price for finding out most of your whole life was based on a fraud.

Like Hitler's 1000 year Reich, Ambassador disappears. Herbie is dead, his government dismantled, and his kingdom is being razed. Those looking back are probably thinking it seemed like a good idea at the time.

"Absolute power corrupts absolutely" I don't know who said that famous quote, but history has shown it to be true.

Goodbye and good riddance

I believe I may have to do a bit of soul retrieval from those properties and memories before they are gone. Funny how the mind gets attached and leaves parts of itself scattered around the places where it felt significant experiences.

I wonder what the Herbarazzi in Oklahoma think of this?

Will the Frozen Flurry drift into one of these new townhouses on grounds of "God's Government Here on Earth"?

SOCAL weather sure is better than Oklahoma this time of year.

I was in Los Angeles on a business trip in May and took the opportunity on a Friday afternoon to ride the train up to Pasadena. I spent most of the afternoon walking around the campus, Orange Grove Blvd and downtown Pasadena. I even dined "al fresco" at a table outside the supermarket in the old El Rancho market bldg.

I spent some time sitting on a bench and thinking of old friends, good times, and exactly what the hell happened to me during my years as a student and employee there. The old Ambassador Press Bldg, Imperial Schools, Motor Pool and other bldgs are already gone. Glad I got one last opportunity to walk around the Academic Center fountains (where my wife and I were married) and to see the campus before all the new construction changes everything.

AC Pasadena was the centerpiece of an evil system but it was a physically beautiful place that some of us had the opportunity to enjoy while in the belly of the beast.

This late 1990's song will reflect my feelings on this:

Although I'm quite sure the concept goes back much farther in time, in modern times at least the insight is attributed to the famous 19th century British historian and champion of freedom, Lord Acton (1834 - 1902).

When reruns all become our history, the final and total destruction of church property might actually be a GOOD thing: Information wants to be free, and with no nucleus to fester around, knowledge of what the church was and what it did is slowly but surely seeping out into the world we are in now.

Goddammit, we should have bulldozed those residences ten years ago, ourselves!!

Perhaps its prologue to what happens nationally in Govt? All these systems are at heart, only held together by money. When the paychecks don't come, the rats start squealing. And we will once again say "We let them get away with that!"

Takes a lot of money to contain secrets.

Precisely, Dr. Z., which is exactly why we're aiming for WCG/GCI's ever-shrinking wallet.
